Our little homestead, Sweet Meadows Farm, is tucked away in a valley in Northern Vermont. We live on twelve acres and besides having Holland Lops, we have a small ADGA Nigerian Dwarf breeding program, a beautiful flock of chickens, four cats, and a little Shih Tzu (who really does think she's a cat!). We raise our Holland Lops (and all of our animals) in a holistic way and give tons of love and attention to them every day. Our bunnies get time in our huge organic garden on nice days and also get organic veggies and fruits. They get to run in the house almost every day and play, and even sit on our laps with us at night when we have family time.
We do not breed for quantity (nor will we ever!) but instead for quality. All of our bunnies are very healthy and have sleek and shiny coats. Any health issues that may arise are generally treated with holistic medicine such as homeopathy, herbal salves, etc. We truly believe that less is more in medicine, but we do have two vets who are very supportive and who work with us when needed.

Welcome to the home of Vermont's Holland Lops! |
While all of our Holland Lops are pedigreed and some are blue-eyed, that is not our main focus. Our Holland Lops are very sweet and social, are good with being picked up, and are used to being around kids and our little dog Annie. They even get time outdoors in summer on grass - supervised play time in a bunny tractor on skis that we had custom built that can move around so that they get fresh grass each time! Their manure is also great for our many permaculture projects.
We give organic fruits & veggies for treats - we have a Harvest Right freeze dryer to make freeze-dried strawberries, which are a big favorite!

What distinguishes us from other programs is that we don't breed for just a specific color or type, but for something truly special all the way around. Health and temperament and are the most important qualities. Ethics are at the core of our program - being accountable to the animals we care for is of utmost importance.
We are working to start using our bunnies as therapy animals and are very excited about this new venture! We stay very small so that our bunnies are super healthy both physically and emotionally. They get lots of love and cuddles, and fun playtime every day, and know how truly special they are. It is so important to us that our bunnies are happy and healthy. You will always know what you are getting with us, as we are an open book. We can't wait to share our bunnies with you!
